Rahman Connelly, Deputy Chairman, Chief Executive Officer
Rahman Connelly is a businessman and entrepreneur with a successful track record in the financial services sector prior to joining Kalimantan Gold Corporation Limited (KGC). He was a founding director of Connelly Temple, an Australian specialist pension fund management business which introduced an innovative product offering and had $850 million under management with some 60,000 members by 1996. In that year the business was sold to Royal & Sun Alliance of the UK. In 1997 Rahman became an investor in KGC, taking over as CEO in 2006. He was instrumental in bringing the company to the London AIM market to complement its TSX-V listing and has focused on expanding the company's gold, copper and, most recently, coal prospects in Indonesia.
Doris Meyer, Chief Financial Officer and Director
Doris Meyer has been involved with the Company since 1997 initially as Corporate Secretary, then Chief Financial Officer, becoming a director in 2000. Mrs. Meyer, who has extensive experience in the mining industry, is a Member of the Associations of the Certified General Accountants of British Columbia and Canada. Mrs. Meyer has a broad network of contacts in financial markets in North America and Europe, which will serve the Company well in its next stage of growth and financing. Resident of Canada.
Mansur Geiger, Vice President Exploration
Mansur Geiger has over 30 years mineral exploration experience in Australia and Indonesia. Mr. Geiger is fluent in the Indonesian language and customs. He has worked on the project from its inception in 1982 and it is reasonable to say that he has committed his career to seeing Kalimantan Gold succeed in making a major mineral discovery. Resident of Indonesia.
Bardolf Paul, Community and Regional Development Manager
Bardolf is a rural development specialist with 20 years experience in the Asia region, primarily in the natural resources sector. His speciality is strengthening the interface between communities and government and improving the quality of governance at both community and government levels. Bardolf heads YTS, the foundation established by Kalimantan Gold in 1967, and works with local communities close to company operations, with local and regional government, and with donors and other development agencies to achieve the above objective. Bardolf was a member of the Extractive Industries Review Secretariat which examined the involvement of the World Bank in the resources sector and made recommendations for improved mining performance to alleviate global poverty.
Dr Peter Pollard, Technical Adviser
Peter is a consulting economic geologist with more than 20 years experience. He holds a PhD from James Cook University, Australia and is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists. Dr Pollard has consulted widely on porphyry copper-gold and iron oxide copper-gold deposits. He has worked on some of the world's major porphyry copper-gold deposits including Grasberg (Indonesia), Escondida Norte (Chile) and Oyu Tolgoi (Mongolia). In addition, he has consulted on porphyry exploration programs in Australia, China, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Peru, U.S.A. and Vietnam.
Nick Cottam, Corporate Relations Manager
Nick has more than 20 years experience in the fields of PR, journalism and marketing. In recent years he has been closely involved in the mining sector, which, in addition to his work for Kalimantan Gold has included writing about junior mining companies all over the world and producing a regular newsletter for the International Council for Mining and Minerals (ICMM) which represents the world's largest mining companies as part of their commitment to sustainable development. Nick has an Honours Degree in Law and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
Gerald Cheyne, Director Corporate Development
Gerald was instrumental in bringing Kalimantan Gold to AIM in 2006. He has 25 years experience acting for quoted and unquoted companies. He has served as a Corporate Finance Director of Guinness Mahon and Henderson Crosthwaite; built up corporate finance divisions at Columbus Asset Management and Bank of Tokyo International; and his experience covers AIM, the Official List, buy-outs and buy-ins, acquisitions and disposals, private equity and corporate fundraising. He has worked and raised funds for US, Canadian, Russian, central European and Far Eastern companies. He has an Engineering degree from Trinity College, Cambridge and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
